Extremely disappointed in the handling of our recent A/C outage. Our air conditioning went out Sunday night — understandably, these things happen. But what followed was unacceptable. On Monday, we were told a specialist would come out, but not until Tuesday — despite a heat index of 110°F on both days.

We later learned that only one HVAC company was contacted and no further effort was made to find alternatives. This lack of urgency put our safety at risk, as our apartment reached temperatures… near 90°F indoors. No hotel accommodations or meaningful alternatives were offered. Instead, we were given a small window unit that was installed incorrectly and did little to help.

When I voiced concern, the manager showed no empathy — no apology — and simply said she "hoped the fans and window unit would do the trick." Spoiler: they didn’t.

This experience shows a complete disregard for tenant wellbeing during extreme weather. If you're considering living here, be aware that you may be on your own when basic needs like safe indoor temperatures aren’t being met. Read More

I would say overall I had an okay experience living there but there are some things that since moving out I feel should be posted so anyone moving in can make an informed decision.

There have been times that maintenance has been extremely slow when dealing with issues. For example there was a broken fridge that was removed from an apartment that was left out in the hallway for about a month. There were also several weeks that the keypad to the door was broken and I heard from other tenants in… other buildings that they also experienced this issue. I will also say that despite them cleaning once a week there are cobwebs in corners of the ceilings and fluid from the AC dripping down a wall. I moved into a brand new building when I first moved in and in three years it had accumulated more wear and tear than expected. While this isn't specially management's fault people are pretty awful at picking up after their dogs so make sure you stick to the sidewalks.

Speaking of cleaning I did try my best to clean my apartment but they hired cleaners anyways. I wish I would have not invested in cleaning supplies and my time into cleaning. According to them I did not make a reasonable effort to rework the dwelling which sounds like I left trash heaped to the ceiling so I guess my hours of cleaning on top of moving was a wasted effort. I have learned my lesson and now would give the advice to just let them hire cleaners since they will do so anyways and take it from your deposit. Read More

I have lived in a handful of apartments in the Ames area, and Brick Towne is by far the best. On move in day, the place was spotless, which made the process easier. Whenever I needed maintenance, they responded quickly and efficiently. The facilities are well-kept and great. As an added plus, they're very active on their social media accounts and involve tenants in fun activities (i.e. giveaways, national day celebrations, food and treats, etc.). Overall, a great place to live!

Brick Towne is a great place to live! The facilities are great (pool, gym, clubhouse). The office staff is friendly and helpful. Things are fixed quickly!
