3L Living is HORRIFIC, just like their properties. Roaches EVERYWHERE. Noise ALL DAY AND NIGHT. Broken doors that are NEVER PROPERLY FIXED. Violence is CONSTANT. I could truly go on forever with all the problems of 3L Living.
Please save yourself -- do NOT rent from 3L Living, and NOT live at 5540 S Hyde Park.

Hope you like roaches
In the past 2 days I have probably done more to kill Roach infestations in this building than management has done in 2 years that I've lived here. I've tried being patient, but having one exterminator come once every few months is NOT sufficient to handle this infestation level. the whole building needs to be shut down for a time and fumigated at this point, but obviously that's not a realistic expectation. So all I can do is encourage you to look somewhere else.

Roaches, and bed bugs galore
The roaches have gotten significantly worse as time has gone on, and the property managers are not only rude but frankly negligent of the situation. This was a nice building but has progressively gotten more disgusting due to negligence.

Bedbugs, cockroaches, drain flies, noise.
Do not move here.
The first unit I lived in, I had a neighbor blasting music 5-10 hours a day, at any time of day or night. When he was doing that, he was threatening or beating his girlfriend. Management told me they had given him a warning but nothing changed. Then it was offered that IIIIIIII move into an apartment two floors up to get away from it. So I had to pack up and move all of my things because someone else was violating their lease agreement.
About a month into this new unit, I... discovered a bad bedbug infestation. So I had to pack up all of my thing again so they could send up exterminators to treat it. It takes longer than a month for bedbugs to become adults and to be large enough in population that you find them so this was a preexisting problem and I was moved into the unit anyway. For the last year, I have been living out of trash bags, never fully being able to unpack because the bedbugs are an ongoing problem. Bedbugs are life-disruptive in general but the treatment process is even more life-disruptive and it appears that you will have to go through it a lot if you live here. You don't live here. You exist here.
The units have no individual kitchen. There is a community kitchen on the ground floor which is absolutely disgusting in normal times but just downright dangerous in a pandemic. Maintenance has damaged my personal property while dealing with a drain fly issue in my first bathroom and I was never reimbursed.
For my incredibly stressful time here, the price is laughably high. Not worth it. Avoid avoid avoid.
