Terrible Maintenance; Ongoing Leaks
We have had an intermittent leak in our apartment for a month with streaks of water running down the wall, paint peeling, water spots growing, etc. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MAINTENANCE THAT 100+ UNITS ARE HAVING THE SAME TYPE OF LEAK.
The process to get this fixed (it is STILL not fixed) has been terrible, and it seems set up to run us in circles while the problem gets worse.
It took 5+ visits from repairmen before the issue was escalated and communication with management is nearly nonexistent. We... cannot contact management directly and despite telling us they will keep us updated they do not. We have sent a handful of emails to management over the last month to ask for status updates and every one of them has been unanswered.
After a month of dealing with this, yesterday a specialized contractor came to cut a hole in our wall and make the "fix", with the plan being to let it dry over the weekend then patch and paint Monday. The leak started again within a few hours, but we cannot contact the higher-ups to tell them the problem is not solved and to not send the painter Monday. Instead, we have to contact the general office, who send lower-level repairmen that, though they are nice and try to be helpful, don't have the tools/expertise to do much, and we have to wait until Monday to go to the building manager's office in-person. His hours are 9am-4pm, so we have to do it during the workday.
I expect that Regents will reply to this review with appropriate customer-service-speak to communicate how much they care, but fundamentally they appear to be unwilling to invest the resources to fix a problem affecting 100 units... but they have no problem increasing our rent.
We regret that we re-upped our lease a couple weeks before the leak started.

We regret to hear about the ongoing issue with the leak in your apartment and are working diligently with our maintenance team to resolve this for you ASAP. Your property manager, Ibrahima mentioned he reached out to you earlier this week with next... steps and planned solutions as well as his direct line should you have any further questions. We understand how frustrating this situation must be and we appreciate your patience as we work to fix this issue.
