Chanticleer Schultz Apartments DeKalb
Chanticleer of Schultz Apartments boasts two bedrooms, spacious living room, dining room with ceiling fan, and landlord-paid water, heat, and gas. Though the rest of the apartment is large and has been updated with fresh paint and new carpeting, the kitchen and bathroom are small and outdated. The stove is about 24 inches wide with undetachable electric burners, but does have a full set of four. The refrigerator has an ice box that can only be accessed by opening the fridge. Leaving the fridge... door open too long causes the ice on the freezer to melt and drip into the fridge. There is plenty of kitchen cabinet space and each room has a large closet. The bathroom cabinet space is huge and there is are two large hallway closets along with a pantry. There is an air conditioner unit in the wall under the front living room window. It cools the living and dining rooms well but doesn't really reach the kitchen through the narrow doorway or down the long hallway to the bedrooms in the back. Rent is very affordable at $675/month and includes water, heat, and gas. Tenant pays electric. This is a good, inexpensive place to live if you are saving up to buy a house, going to school, or looking for a slightly bigger apartment after graduation. Right off of downtown DeKalb, this apartment is also a short walk or bus ride from NIU and is close to the bus stop on 2nd and Locust.
