Repeated Flooding in Units – Ask About Door and Drainage Issues Before Leasing
I would strongly encourage anyone considering moving into this community to ask specifically about water intrusion, door conditions, and drainage before signing a lease.
My unit has experienced repeated flooding in the living room during storms due to water entering through the exterior patio doors. This has occurred multiple times, including January 9, March 6, and April 12.
Management has acknowledged that this is a known issue and that the doors throughout parts of the property require... replacement; however, repairs have been delayed and the condition remains unresolved. Temporary measures have been suggested, but they have not been effective in preventing water from entering the apartment. During two separate incidents, water entered the unit along with worms, creating unsanitary conditions in the living space.
I have also had to purchase my own materials to try to manage the water intrusion while waiting for a permanent fix.
To be fair, this may not affect all units equally. From what I have been told, the villas that sit in a wind tunnel appear to be more susceptible to this issue, whereas other areas of the property may not experience the same level of exposure.
This is not something I was made aware of prior to moving in, and it has significantly impacted my experience living here. I would strongly recommend asking detailed questions about how water is managed during storms before making a decision.
