This is not a gated community - not worth the money
In the short time I’ve lived here, I’ve already noticed several issues future residents should know about. After my car was broken into, I contacted management because the “gated” community gates had been left wide open for days. I was told the gates are an amenity, not a safety feature, and that they stay open for snow removal—even though it hadn’t snowed in days. Their advertising implies security, which feels misleading. Management also emphasized that the lease doesn’t require the gates to... stay closed, raising real questions about what protection this community actually provides.
I moved in on Saturday and immediately dealt with trash-related frustration. I was told the property is strict and fines are enforced, so despite the cold rain I took all my moving boxes to the dumpster myself. Meanwhile, several neighbors left trash out overnight with no issue. I also briefly left new moving bins outside, and the pickup service took them. The trash worker apologized and returned them, but management only told me they were “already compacted” with no concern or apology.
At the dog park, multiple owners warned me their dogs weren’t friendly. With so many pets on-site, I’d prefer true behavior screening instead of paying for a dog DNA test. The property is also advertised as smoke-free, yet my neighbor smokes on his patio regularly.
After the break-in, I checked my lease and was surprised to see that management isn’t responsible for running criminal-history checks, even though I was told background checks were required. That inconsistency is concerning. I’ve also found unsafe spots on the property covered by flimsy plastic; after slipping on one at night, no one asked if I was okay. The coffee bar is rarely stocked, and the walls are extremely thin.
For the price of living here, I expected better security, communication, and consistency. My experience so far has been disappointing.
