The Helm

Never before i have felt unsafe in my home. I live on ground floor and first there was a break in 5 weeks ago at 6am as a homeless person was prying open the bedroom window with a bar he grabbed from the planter of the same apartment and next thing i see a couple running after a guy with a crow bar in hand at 6:30am in broad day light. Turns out it was my neighbor and the guy was breaking in their bedroom window and when they heard it they came after him. What a pleasant Sunday Morning, the cops... came and we find out he broke in an another apartment in the same row through the patio window (totally smashed) and since no one was home he went through all their stuff.

People partying at pool and trash everywhere on weekends and then Last Sunday morning 6:30am there were gunshots at pool and empty shells all around. That’s what happens when there is no policy on who can come in the building. It says 2 people , but i see people having a whole party there in the lobby area every weekend. You would expect some sort of on sight security. Anyone can throw a brick and get inside your apartment through the window on main floor , so convenient wow.

I pay for 2 parking passes $75 each and last whole month the garage barriers were not even working so there was no safety guarantee. And still paying the fee when anyone can park in there for free.

Oh and the never ending dog poop all on side walk, so any time i open my patio door (it faces the street) i’m welcomed with the “delightful” fragrance of fresh dog excretions and you have to be careful even crossing the side walk and avoiding dog poop.

Lost almost 30 packages in 7 months here. I really love my apartment, and loved this place but everything is so badly taken care of, and the safety issues are just making me count my days till lease is over.

Random fire alarms are very pleasant to wake up in middle of night or any time. I think they never vaccuum the hallways because i can see stuff there sitting for months. Trash pick up is totally luck if they do.

Really disappointed as overall the structure is so great, if only it is well maintained and secured, it could be amazing. I had such high expectations but overall it’s
Low quality construction, contemporary but cheap finishing. As my washer dryer and master bathroom shower would flood often oh and the washer trips every single time due to bad distribution of electricity load . Wonderful so well planned. Read More

This place has had so many issues from their car break ins, to their internet. They don't have security, and the internet will go out for days at a time. There have been issues with fights breaking out at the pool and what sounded like gunshots at the pool a few days ago. Management will not fix any of the issues, and some of the pool party people absolutely trashed the building, and management has not addressed the issue, or informed anyone of the dangerous community.

Unfortunately, my experience with 'The Helm' has been less than ideal. Generic responses to security concerns are not reassuring. The ongoing electrical and internet outages, defective fire alarms that have caused multiple false alarms and anxiety with our support dog. Ongoing and escalating trash removal issue(which we pay monthly valet trash fees for). Car break in's, very little parking for residents or guests', recent break-in of level 1 apartment. Safety concerns with doors and windows... not functioning properly are just to name a few. UNTIL these issues are resolved by management who are slow to come to any decisions, even with immediate security issues at hand AVOID The Helm! THIS IS NOT luxury living apartments!

I have not enjoyed my time here so far, with it being a new apartment complex there is a decent amount of issues. From maintenance issues to the WiFi being inconsistent. The WiFi is bulk WiFi which cost more than fiber and is not consistent.

Parking so far seems to be the biggest issue. There are no spots. Not really sure what the plan was as there are less than 50 spots total and the first floor has 51 rooms!
