Harborview at the Navy Yard

This is a very quiet and lovely community. The grounds are kept meticulously. The residence are so nice and it is an incredibly pet friendly place to live. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is it’s overpriced for what you get. There are effectively no amenities. My view is incredible. But at my next renewal, I will need to ask myself if it’s worth it. The building is basically 20 years old.No updates. They have updated a few apartments if you are lucky enough to get one of those. If your... apartment has not been updated once you’re in the lease, it will not be updated. Initially these prices were based on amazing appliances and the fact that they’re actually supposed to be condominiums but 20-year-old condominiums without updates do not fall into the category of these prices. There is almost no overhead lighting. There are a few old style can lights in a couple of places that’s it. The bathroom exhaust does not work and random outlets do not work. Overall, I’ve had a positive experience living here. The concierge and management team are very nice, professional, and responsive when you have questions. They make you feel welcome and are always pleasant to interact with, which really adds to the community feel of the building.

The community room and roof deck are great amenities, but they could definitely be cleaned and maintained a bit better. With a little more attention, those spaces would feel even more inviting.

My main concern has... been with maintenance. While issues do eventually get addressed, communication isn’t always clear, and it can take anywhere from a week to over a month to have something fixed. Improving response time and follow-up would make a big difference.

Issues started with the move-in procedures, very unresponsive management, “in the meetings” all day, you need to chase them. If something is not working (heat, dryer) will need to call multiple times, first time will not be fixed. Advertised that heat is included, but only after receiving winter electric bill I learned that it’s not.

My boyfriend pup and I moved into Harborview in October. We love the sense of community and community events planned. The staff is friendly and helpful. We have had a couple of issues with our refrigerator not producing water without a leak and with our toilet running. Our pup enjoys the walks along the water and the treats from the front desk staff :)

Despite the recent changes in office and Concierge the Staff of HarborView do an excellent job for the tenants and the company.
My renewal depend on the rent increase as the promised improvements such as kitchen cabinets surfacing or the water leaking corner windows were never done . Happy 2026 ??
