Look elsewhere

Hallways are filthy with dried garbage juice dripped from garbage cans being moved through the hallway and dog hair lining the edges of the floor. Hallway always smells like a disgusting combination of marijuana, cheap air fresheners to cover it up, and pets. Rent is high for no amentities, no I do not count benches outside that the public uses an amentity. No gym, no grills, no common room, no lobby, trash overflowing out of the trash room, packages always missing because they are just stored... in the hallway in massive amounts because the "mailroom" was not thought out properly and can't fit them. Walls are thin--one can hear loud neighbors music, phone calls, and banging very easily. No signage--food deliveries and ubers are a hassle.

Since the rent is so expensive, a lot of units have a bunch of young people splitting the rent. There are often empty alcohol cans/containers littered outside in the grass, on the sidewalk, or just strewn about the hallway. I would say it is like living in a dorm, but, my dorm was way cleaner, nicer, had amentities, and security.

Photos are from various days from the last year. Therefore, it is a pattern of behavior and not just "caught them on a bad day".

Do not recommend. They say on their website that these are "luxury apartments". What is luxurious? The builder grade materials? The lead paint dust? The exposed duct work no one can reach to clean off? The unfinished/raw wood door trim/baseboarding that can't really be dusted off because it is rough and splintery? The deal the developers made with the city that residents of Ropewalk are inelligible to get a resident parking sticker for their cars? "Professional on-site management" that may or may not stay until 5PM but is not here nights or weekends. What a joke.

The beautiful building that couldn't

This historic building is located in one of the best neighborhoods in Boston. Unfortunately that's about the only positive I have to say about it. We were granted resident parking passes by the city when we moved in and within a few months they were revoked. The owners of the building failed to disclose an agreement they signed with the city. Neither the city or the building will do anything to help us resolve this issue costing us hundreds of extra dollars a month in garage parking that no... one budgeted for (there are also rumors of increasing rent for next year!!!!). They lied to us about safe, secure bike storage. The grounds are a mud field. The snow falls off the roof putting people walking out of the building in danger. I would not recommend anyone living here.

Thought it would be great. Not so much

This seemed like a great place to live. TLDR: It's not. - We've tried to work with management for months to no avail so we're sharing this. If you're considering living here, go in eyes open on the issues and the unresponsive management.

- You can't get a resident permit to park here. Residents have been towed.
- Snow isn't removed, blocked entry/exit. Ice falls off the roof and has nearly hurt people.- Electricity is $200+ a month.
- Skylight has leaked for months, repair finally in the works...
.
- The fire alarm system wasn't wired correctly so when there was an alarm, the fire department was never notified.
- They advertise "secure, covered" bike storage, there isn't any.
- Advertised "adirondack chairs and benches" there aren't any and the "meticulously well kept grounds are a mud field".

While they haven't solved any issues, they're raising rents and charging for water in 2022!
