The Aven at Newton Highlands

The Aven has attractive apartments (many/most with balconies [or patios for 1st floor apartments}, beautiful landscaping (the trees are flowering now; there is a small adjacent park) It’s located next to the Upper Falls Greenway. Management and maintenance are responsive.
A great plus is the ethnic variety found among the residents of Aven's 294 apartments, who represent every continent and every color. 25% of apartments are subsidized for families whose annual income is substantially less... than Area Median Income. Aven is a quiet, peaceful place, with good neighborly relationships.
My only criticism is that - when I walk my dog - I see more litter than I think should be present. I think cleanup should occur more often.
In short, the Aven is a wonderful place to live. It contradicts many of the stereotypes and implicit bias of people who oppose approval of new apartments in upper-middle-class areas like Newton, often with loud warnings and non-factual assertions. Read More

Pool has been closed much of the time since I moved in. The longer I live here the more I see shoddy construction. Staff is great—friendly, helpful, efficient. New gym equipment is nice. Need alternative to Verizon, which is awful.

Very nice community very responsive maintenance team I didn’t give 5 stars because the walls are very thin and the neighbors are really noisy

I have been here for 6 months and am very happy with my apartment and the facilities that are provided. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.

Just moved in, but the property and our specific unit are so beautiful and well laid out. The staff so far are very nice, and the community seems quiet and respectful. The area is wonderful being right in Newton Highlands and having easy access to the Greenway to walk our dogs. The value is also better than other complexes we toured with more amenities included in the price that we cared about, like a covered garage spot.
