The level of Service in the Leasing office is stellar! No request is an imposition. I especially appreciate the renovations of the pool and patio area. The beautiful Christmas tree was very much apprecited.

The Aven has attractive apartments (many/most with balconies [or patios for 1st floor apartments}, beautiful landscaping (the trees are flowering now; there is a small adjacent park) It’s located next to the Upper Falls Greenway. Management and maintenance are responsive.
A great plus is the ethnic variety found among the residents of Aven's 294 apartments, who represent every continent and every color. 25% of apartments are subsidized for families whose annual income is substantially less... than Area Median Income. Aven is a quiet, peaceful place, with good neighborly relationships.
My only criticism is that - when I walk my dog - I see more litter than I think should be present. I think cleanup should occur more often.
In short, the Aven is a wonderful place to live. It contradicts many of the stereotypes and implicit bias of people who oppose approval of new apartments in upper-middle-class areas like Newton, often with loud warnings and non-factual assertions.

Pool has been closed much of the time since I moved in. The longer I live here the more I see shoddy construction. Staff is great—friendly, helpful, efficient. New gym equipment is nice. Need alternative to Verizon, which is awful.
