I do not recommend this place...

Living in this complex has been disastrous. I moved into this place in November 2020 and with this being my third month here, I regret making the choice of moving in.

Please look at this detailed list of issues you will likely run into…

1) You're responsible for patching any holes from mounting shelves or decor in your unit...at YOUR expense when you’re moving out (stated in the lease, but very ridiculous). If you’re mounting anything onto the walls or ceilings, the property manager urges you...
to pay the building’s contracted handyman to mount anything. The “small fee” for the handyman will probably be around the same price as the item that you want to mount.
2) If you're planning to adopt a dog or bring one in, it MUST be 40 lbs. or under (doesn't state that in the lease...). No pits, no great danes, no greyhounds.
3) You can't have a welcome mat at the front of your door.
4) The insulation of the building is poorly installed. The lobby is beyond freezing on cold days. Your gas bill will be pricy during the winter!
5) There are MANY unfinished projects (e.g., windows, unpatched holes in walls, roof deck has no furniture, common room not ready for use)
6) There are practically NO amenities—you pay for gas and electric, and your water is metered. There's no fitness center, no nearby dog park, and on-site visitor parking is virtually impossible with the 5-7 visitor spots and 46 units! Oh! And you have to pay extra in rent for a garage parking spot.

I can go on and on, but that is just a few of the many things that have gone wrong since living here. This building definitely needs another year before being available to rent. Management is unorganized and can be nonchalant about addressing tenant issues.

The rent is not worth the experience. Please do yourself a favor and save your coin!

An excellent experience

Moving here from another state has been a smooth transition. I was able to view the property promptly and the realtor made it convenient for me. The landlord has been attentive to anything I need and available. I am extremely satisfied with my apartment and the functionality of it. It is spacious and I like the lighting. I recommend any unit on the property.

Work in progress

Without a doubt, this building is beautiful. Unfortunately, since this is a new property there are a lot of “unfinished projects” if you will. The building opened 11/1 and as of 12/24 the garage is still “closed.” Even though we are paying for spots within our rent, we park outside.
It seems like things that should have been addressed prior to move in were not: such as a strong sewage smell from the utility closets inside the apartments, and poorly constructed/insulated windows (other residents...
have experienced this as well). Anticipate a high heat bill. The common room is not yet furnished but that is minor. I think this building has a lot of potential, but management seems disorganized. I would not recommend moving in at this time.

Property Manager at Willets Landing responded to this review

We always appreciate tenant feedback, especially in a new construction building. Typically there are punch list items with new construction and Willets Landing is no exception. But we’ve responded promptly and addressed all the issues brought to our... attention. We understand the frustration and strive to make the building better each day. The tenants were financially compensated for the garage parking delay, and we remain open to other ways to improve the living experience for each tenant.
