Great Apartments Run by a Dream Team
I’ve lived at Southwood Acres for a few years now and my experience overall has been very positive. From the start, it had the basics of what I need in a home - quiet, clean, safe area, and pet friendly. But as I’ve spent more time here, I’ve experienced first-hand how great the team at Southwood Acres is and the difference that makes.
The Property Manager, Amanda, is incredibly kind and always on top of keeping tenants informed on updates ranging from general maintenance to fun events. She... brings the type of energy to Southwood Acres that makes it feel more like a community, offering easy ways to engage with things like raffle gifts or seasonal holiday activities.
When it comes to the Maintenance Team, they are the most genuine, helpful, and hard-working group. They respond to maintenance needs quickly, professionally, and on multiple occasions have gone above and beyond to help. They’re familiar, friendly faces around the complex where I see them consistently keeping the surrounding areas clean, plowing and shoveling walkways, and even recently had one of the team members step in to help me jump start my car when they were outside working on plowing. And if that’s not enough, on another occasion, I was casually talking to a team member in the gym about wanting a bench and, within the next day or two, a bench showed up!
A long review but the team at Southwood Acres deserves the shout out. I’ve moved around a lot in hopes of greener pastures, but I haven’t wanted to leave here because it truly is a gem :)

Hearing that it feels quiet, comfortable, clean, and pet-friendly is... exactly what we hope residents experience — but knowing it’s felt that way for you long-term is even better.
Your kind words about me are incredibly appreciated (and humbling!), but the real MVPs are definitely Juan and the maintenance team. They work so hard behind the scenes every single day, whether it’s plowing in the freezing cold, keeping the grounds looking great, or jumping in to help with something unexpected like your car. That’s just who they are — genuine and always willing to help. And I love that you mentioned the gym bench because that’s such a perfect example of how much they care about the little things, too.
It really does mean a lot to hear that you feel like this is a gem and that it’s kept you from chasing those greener pastures. That’s exactly the kind of community we’re always trying to build.
