Huntley Square

I lived here for three years in a two bedroom apartment. There are rats in the basement storage unit that will ruin anything you store down there. Mice get into the apartment as well. The laundry is expensive and is often broken.

Rent increases greatly each year. After move out, my security deposit was not returned. They charged almost $1,000 for garbage left on the curb (where trash is picked up) at $45 per bag plus a bulk moving fee. I was told it was fine to leave my trash there in move... out day by staff. I informed them not all the belongings were mine. Other residents placed trash, a table and chairs in the same spot. They also claimed drywall damage at $100 despite there being no actual damage. I informed them of this, but still have not received my security deposit and do not answer the phone. Throughout living there it has been hard to get someone in the office on the phone. I’ve been living at Huntley Square for two weeks now and couldn’t be happier! I was in a bit of a rush to move in, and Heather was absolutely amazing throughout the entire application process. Both Heather and Emily made my transition so smooth, and I was even greeted with the cutest welcome gift when I arrived — such a thoughtful touch!

The whole apartment community feels like a resort. It’s beautifully maintained, very clean, and impressively tidy considering it’s pet-friendly. My unit itself... is spacious with high ceilings and a layout that’s truly well-designed — everything feels open, comfortable, and intentional.

I also had an issue with my refrigerator during my first week, and maintenance was fast, professional, and incredibly efficient. Rodney came in right away and replaced it without any hassle, which gave me even more confidence that I’m in good hands here.

On top of that, my neighbors have all been friendly and welcoming. Everyone I’ve met has greeted me with a smile, which makes settling in even better.

Overall, I’m extremely happy with my decision to move here and highly recommend Huntley Square to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-managed, and welcoming place to live. Read More

Huntley Square Apartments, are HORRIBLE. Huntley Square used to be one of the best apartment communities in Oakland County! It was once a nice, somewhat exclusive community.

In the past 3-4 years, it has declined—from management and service to the quality of the units and buildings.

The plumbing is simply terrible.

The price does... not match the quality or service. It’s just really bad.

They’ve raised the rent by $400-$500 over the past two years and REFUSE to make any updates—not even basic ones such as painting, carpeting, or reflooring. Some tenants (including myself) who are requesting updates have been here for over a decade or had old carpet when they moved in. They’ve been telling us that they are not responsible for updating things that suffer from natural wear and tear.

The washers and dryers break down every other week.

The basements look TERRIBLE (like an abandoned building, no exaggeration)—some have very bad plumbing and water issues. If you’re looking to move here, definitely ask to see the basement.

Maintenance is a joke. If they show up, they only do half the job.

They even have buildings with mice and roaches.

Veteran tenants who would like to move into updated units are met with substantially high rent increases, although not much has been done to the updated units.

Even the updated apartments are of cheap quality. All they did was lay down some gray flooring and change the kitchen cabinets.

Huntley used to rarely have available units for rent; now they have about 10, with more to come as many tenants are planning to leave. Read More

We've been living here for about 6 months and we love it so far. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, and it's a great price for being so close to the Birmingham/Bloomfield area.
Maintenance comes quickly & the utilities aren't too costly.
The only downsides are the laundry is not in-unit (for a 2 bedroom anyway) & we are close to Beaumont and the police station, so we hear a lot of sirens.
