Fieldstone Apartments

RENTERS BEWARE!!! Do NOT waste your time or money renting from this complex. We have been here all of 2 months and have sped up our house search so we can get out! We initially liked the quiet of the neighborhood and the layout of the apartments. We moved in November, and by December I found black mold growing in our infant sons bedroom closet from a water leak behind the wall. My son has Down Syndrome and had open heart surgery at 6 weeks and has a number of other medical issues, so if he… becomes ill, he ends up in the hospital. When I called about the mold, they were not concerned. The maintenance man that eventually came to inspect tried to pass it off as "the beginnings of mildew" and cleaned it without a mask or any precautions. I showed the pictures to multiple contractors and my uncle who lays carpets, and every one of them said it was black mold, as any fool can see. My son and I had to vacate the apartment for the entire week before Christmas because his pediatrician was concerned about his health now that the spores were definitely in the air. The complex agreed to deep clean the carpets and check under them for mold, but they didn't check under the carpets. We bought an air purifier and have just been hoping and praying it'll be ok now. Not even a week later, we come home from Christmas to find a wall in our garage has split in the middle, and has what looks like a foot hole in the bottom! We could see into our neighbors garage, and the dry wall was so loose, anyone could have given it a small push and entered our garage and home. It took maintenance over a week to "fix" it, with something that looks like duct tape (it's not, but it's sticky and when you touch it and pull your finger away, you can hear the reverberations in the neighbors garage, so it's clearly not thick or super secure). Fast forward to tonight, we hear a crash at our front door which makes our dog start growling as if someone's trying to enter. Nope, just some metal siding that flew off the side of the building and hit our door! That siding has been loose since we moved in, and they've done nothing about it. This place does not care about the safety of its residence, and the maintenance work is a joke. I HIGHLY recommend you look elsewhere and DO NOT rent from Fieldstone. Worst mistake we have EVER made.
