As a 19-yr resident of Larpenteur Manor Apartments, I can attest to the convenience of the location and the friendly competence of management and staff. The on-site property manager, Adriana is a delightful person, competent and very helpful. Chris, the chief of maintenance quickly solves any internal apartment problems. There is year-round space for walking, running, or biking either on the State Fairgrounds or on the expansive St. Paul Campus of U of M., both of which are adjacent the... property. My boyfriend and I were first time renter’s looking for an apartment with a short drive to the University of Minnesota and good cost, but not in the heart of downtown. We came across Larpenteur Manor and it was perfect. Christine (such a great human) was EXTREMELY helpful, answering all of our questions over the phone and email to help us with our move in the middle of the pandemic. She is so great at communication with things happening around the building and is very helpful with anything you... may need. She makes the environment here so welcoming. Chris also is so friendly, we love him!

The apartment itself is good. We moved in before they started renovations and still had great working appliances. They are very spacious apartments and have a huge amount of storage compared to many places in the area. The sunken living room is so fun and separates the space nicely for a dining room area. For the two of us, a one bedroom was the perfect size.

The area is very convenient for shopping and fun outings. You are about 15 minutes from downtown and the HarMar Mall is just around the corner, as well as the Rosedale Mall. The apartment building itself is located right off the fairgrounds and UofM St. Paul campus, which was a great, quiet place for walking. We liked that it wasn’t surrounded by shops and people all the time, but instead the campus agriculture fields. Stout’s Pub is the closest place across the street and has amazing food and drinks.

I enjoy living here at Larpenteur Manor Apartments. The area is mainly quiet and peaceful and the landlord Christine and the maintenance technician Chris do an amazing job being there to assist with any of our needs.

Letter Grade: A

By far and away, the best thing there is Chris and Christine, aka the two that make this place a great place. Depending on the season, you'll see Chris making sure the pool is absolutely spotless, shrubbery is cleared to give the best sight lines entering and exiting the complex, and plowing and salting sidewalks even in the worst of conditions; this man is the human version of a swiss army knife for how much he's willing to take on every day. Christine does an amazing job communicating anything... and everything you may need to know on a daily basis, not to mention she's also extremely quick to respond to any questions you may have during your stay. This apartment if perfect for grad students at the U of M. Although it is a little bit pricey, the convenience cannot be beat. It's also a short drive or bike ride to Har-Mar Mall, Rosedale Shopping Center, and all sorts of fun things. The pool provides a nice bonus during the hot summer months.
