Powers is a longtime member of the MAR Professional Standards Committee and the MAR Regional Ethics and Arbitration Panel. In 2001, Powers was selected one of Mississippi’s 50 Leading Business Women by the Ms. Business Journal. She is an active member of her community through her involvement in her church as a Licensed Eucharistic Minister, 2023 President of the Greenwood Little Theatre, Main Street Greenwood, Rotarian, past BOD, past Chamber of Commerce executive committee and vice chair of the City Of Greenwood, MS Planning Commission, MVSU James Herbert White Foundation BOD.
