Terrible service

We have lived at Bay Ridge for 5 plus years. Over the years we have submitted multiple break / fix tickets and they were completed in a timely manner. We love that about Bay Ridge, and it was one of the biggest reasons we stayed. I’m not sure what changed, whether management or the technicians, but this current Bay Ridge is nothing like the past. We submitted a ticket because our AC was not working. We didn’t hear anything back from management or the technicians for a month. We then submitted a… different ticket for the same issue. At this time is when a technician reached out saying they needed to order parts. This was never communicated to us and we even think they might have forgotten about our issue until the second ticket was submitted. We are now currently going on month 3 with no AC. No compensation or discount was given for living 3 months without central AC which is one of the benefits they list on their units. Management provided only one window AC after the second ticket. The AC unit helps but now our electricity bill is sky rocking while we still pay the same rent without the amenities they advertised.

We also recognize your concerns regarding pet waste on the property. When these issues were brought to our attention, our team responded by addressing the affected areas and sending reminders to residents regarding their responsibility to clean up after their pets.

DON'T. JUST DON'T.

I promise you will regret making the decision to move in, literally from day one. Management is inconsistent and rude. Charges for parking, trash, water, a pet, are NOT included your rent. You'll be charged a separate fee.

Dog poo is overwhelming and everywhere. It's gross and unsanitary. Dumpsters overflow.

Move in day? Give yourself time to clean before you put away your stuff. Get bug/roach spray, degreaser and bleach. Check your ac/heat vents - likely you will see mold.

Don't move… here if you need a space that is clean, quiet and safe.

Hidden Fees/High Rent for Poor Upkeep

Place has hidden fees on top of rent. Usually, in most places, sewage, trash removal, pest control etc. is covered in the rent…it is not here. These are added in fees and I don’t mean heat, electric and cable, or pet fees…those are obvious utilities/fees to add on. But sewage and pest control? The rent is super high for a small space with no noise control, you can hear everything in other apartments. The dog park is awful, other tenants let their friends bring dogs and the management does… nothing about it. Landscaping is awful, if you live on the first floor they blow the leaves onto it in the fall instead of picking them up. And they raise the rent a substantial amount when your lease is up, on top of the fees.

Not great

Poor construction. Damaged floors and ceilings. Loud and unreliable HVAC systems. Poor insulation between units.

Maintenance is understaffed and can take weeks to respond to service requests. They often mark requests complete and don’t completely fix the issue. It is difficult to get into contact with them. I’ve had maintenance emergencies (no AC in summer, no heat in winter) go unanswered.

Bad floor plans. Small kitchens and bathrooms. Poor lighting. Most units were built in the 1980’s. A… couple buildings were renovated a few years ago after a fire. Most pictures they post online are of those newer buildings, even though they only account for a fraction of the total units in the complex.

Grounds are generally good. Good grills. Decent gym. Volleyball and tennis courts. The tennis courts are pretty cracked and overrun with children.

Hello. Thank you for sharing your experience at Bay Ridge at Nashua. We appreciate the feedback you have provided. We will need to identify which apartment you are referring to as having damaged floors and ceilings. Our last large redevelopment of… Bay Ridge was in 2018 and flooring, kitchens and baths were redeveloped. Our maintenance team works very hard to complete most service requests within 24 to 48 hours. The only time a service could take weeks is if a part needed to be ordered and it was on back order. Our Service team was short staffed for a bit and we extended our apologies if there was more of a delay than normal. We have now hired another technician and we feel confident our turn around time will improve. Emails have been sent to residents regarding children playing on the tennis courts. We stress tennis should be the only activity on the courts and it is not a playground. We would like to address your experience at Bay Ridge more directly but we will need your contact information. Noisiest place I have ever lived

The floors somehow have less than zero insulation. Every footstep echoes through the ceiling, it's like living inside a drum. Do not under any circumstance move here into a unit that isn't on the top floor.
