Read Before Renting: MiPlace Is Severely Mismanaged
The apartments look fine online, but management is a nightmare.
On move-in day, our unit was filthy. Dirty floors, moldy washer, broken dishwasher, and NO heat in January. Maintenance had been using the empty unit and “forgot” to clean it. We paid full move-in costs but had to stay elsewhere for days and only received a partial refund after pushing.
Our AC failed during a summer heatwave. After multiple failed repairs, we spent much of the summer without working AC while being told nearly 80°... indoors was “normal.” A poorly installed window unit leaked rainwater into the bedroom and created an electrical hazard. Ceiling water damage in the kitchen went unfixed for two years.
At move-out, we were charged for full carpet replacement and cleaning fees, despite the apartment being disgusting when we moved in. They refused to provide the carpet’s age, depreciation, or let us repair it ourselves.
Phone calls went unanswered for months. When we finally had to *67 the office just to get them to answer, leasing agent Lori screamed at us for asking about our security deposit, told us to “take them to court,” then hung up. All staff are rude, condescending, and wildly unprofessional.
Dog waste is constantly left around the property.
Safe to say, we are so glad to be gone. If you value professionalism, maintenance response, or fair move-out practices, do not rent here.
