Avalon Maplewood

Not a person of giving bad reviews, but Wao! I set an appointment to see one of the units and make an phone call to set up the appointment everything seems nice, until you get there and basically see no one. Started Calling the phone instructed in the email no one answers, leasing room is closed. My question is why make waste my time if no one is going to be there very unprofessional!

My fiance and I have been living in the Avalon Maplewood apartments since March. We were the first tenants in the final section of the entire complex and have faced many issues since we were essentially the guinea pigs of the area. The maintenance team is slow to respond or claims they have completed a ticket when they haven't. The employees who work in the office are not helpful in any sense and are never able to answer any questions we have. It finally has changed since they hired a new... Community Manager to take over. Then there have been issues with our monthly fees and having Avalon charge us fees such as "utility recover charges" when we have been paying our PSE&G bill every month! The entire team at Avalon has not made this "easy living". There are just always issues, we always have to follow up with something, or it just adds such inconvenience and stress for my fiance and I to deal with. Our courtyard still does not have fob access, so anyone walking up and down the street can enter into our courtyard. We are located on the first floor, so that means anyone can walk up to our back door. The landscape has also been unattended to; their are pots of flowers just laying on the side that haven't been planted into the ground in months, dead trees, dead flowers, etc. Access to enter the garage is always out of service too. The system they use (Butterfly) seems to have an insane amount of issues which leads guests not being able to enter into the parking deck unless a tenant is physically standing in front of the garage holding up the fob that opens the doors. So. Much. Inconvenience! We are paying a hefty amount to live in this apartment and the service has been so bad.
