A complete nightmare for our family
My family’s experience with Mera Henderson was incredibly stressful and heartbreaking.
My 78-year-old father was supposed to move here in less than 3 weeks after months of planning. We toured in January, selected a unit, completed the application, and were approved in early March. Parking was discussed from the beginning because covered and reasonably close parking is important for someone his age in Las Vegas heat.
Over a month ago, I was told in writing that my father had an assigned covered... carport and was also on a wait list for one closer to his apartment.
As move-in approached, I sent multiple emails and left multiple voicemails asking for updates. No one responded. I finally went to the property in person last week.
That is when I was told my father did NOT actually have a reserved carport, despite what we had previously been told. I was also informed he had never even been placed on the wait list.
We were then told he could use uncovered first-come, first-served parking. For a 78-year-old moving during Las Vegas summer, that was not acceptable. What upset me even more was when management suggested my father try to obtain a handicap placard so he could park closer, even though he does not qualify for one.
At that point, we no longer trusted management and withdrew from the lease process. Unfortunately, this happened less than 3 weeks before move-in. Movers had already been arranged, reservations had already been made, and because we could not find another suitable apartment on such short notice, my father’s move has now been indefinitely postponed.
This situation caused enormous emotional stress and disruption for our family. I would strongly caution against anyone considering living here and be very wary of the misinformation and inappropriate recommendations provided by staff.
