Edge of the Pond

When my boyfriend and I decided to take the next step and move in together, we had no idea how hard it would be. Living together has been a dream, but our landlord and first apartment was something straight from a nightmare. Our housing situation had gone from bad to worse; we were living with black mold that effected our health, and the health of our furry felines. Our Landlord insisted we were lying, and wouldn't help us resolve the issue. As we are both horribly allergic to mold, and fed up... with getting mistreated, we considered un-moving in with each other and had the dreaded conversation about moving back home. . .

That's when we found Edge of the Pond apartment complex in LaFayette, NY. It was essentially a fairy tale and felt like love at first sight. Our first meeting with Robert, our new landlord, was amazing. He was helpful, answered all of our hard questions that we had (unfortunately) needed to learn from having a horrible landlord. He was patient, kind, and has been the most amazing landlord. I can't say enough positive things about how he and L.A.R. Properties run their business. They answer every call, and are beyond helpful. The apartment complexes surrounding us had hidden fees, and weren't up front with costs of living whatsoever, which was disheartening and off putting. Robert and L.A.R. Properties are honest, hard working, and to the point. After our move in, Robert checked on us often to make sure our moving process went smoothly and that we were still happy with everything. We're nestled in a small section of trees, right on the edge of a peaceful pond. The complex is given fish food and encouraged to feed and visit the gorgeous koi fish and the snapping turtle who looks to be close to 100 years old! It also offers the luxury of small pizza shops and a small night life- perfect for the twenty-something demographic and surprising for a small town!

There aren't words to describe how happy we are with the decision to live at The Edge of the Pond apartment complex. It feels like home, and we look forward to spending many happy and healthy years here! Read More
