Lived here from May of 17 to September 2019. In that time, they spent the first year telling me the running balance on my account was a mistake and they were having the accountant look into it when ever I was charged a late fee. I ignored the late fees for a couple of months thinking it was something on their end they had to fix then when I brought it up said they were valid and they never caught the fact that they didn't remove my pet deposit from my account until after we had live there for... over a month and they're for my first months payment was short. This past summer we received our first complaint because my brothers (10&8) were visiting and had played with water balloons outside and some pieces were left on the side walk. A couple of days after I went online to pay that months rent and saw 5 late fees adding up to $250 on there that had never been there before. I spoke to them and the "accountant" made a ledger explaining why they were valid. Except they weren't. My lease gave me a 10 day grace period before any late fees and they had decided to charge me for 5 of them on the 6th of the month in July of this year and NOT when they actually considered the payments "late" (the earliest one being from December). Really felt like they were just trying to rip me off since they even aknowledged in the ledger they made that it's late unless there's a 10 grace period but either never bothered to check or thought that I would be gullible enough to pay it. Maintenance also took forever to fix anything and never let you know that they had. Each building shares a water heater so it's impossible to take even a five minute shower with out the water going from scalding hot to ice cold at least five times which they won't mention until you ask them about it. They also never mailed my security deposit within the first two weeks of us moving out (as New York state law now requires). I was a resident of lacroix for almost two years the apartments are spacious however the management is very unprofessional, the maintenance takes for ever if the problem ever gets solved at all. I went the entire winter with no heat in the living room, I ended up having to buy space heater. The entire building I lived in was infested with mice, they sent an exterminator after several complaints (the exterminator did nothing but set a trap that never caught any mice) but the problem was... reoccurring until the day I moved out, this was for every single apartment in my building. After I complained about the problems I was having and questioned why nothing was being done the assistant manager Leah was very rude and disrespectful I never received an apology from her & the problems with her only got worse from there every time I would come in to pay rent she was rude and would even lie when I asked for the where abouts of the property manager(the property manager never answered his phone). I would never recommend anyone to live here I was warned by several tenants about the management and sadly they were right. Read More

This place is absolutely beautiful. The new owners have done an amazing job landscaping the property and upgrading the units. My brand new upgraded unit is simply luxurious and huge. The management is great, they respond very quickly to any complaint or work order. I can finally call my apartment home! I'd greatly recommend this community to anyone.
