The Chester

I am extremely disappointed with how The Chester's management handled my application and relocation process.

I submitted my application on July 15, and the application fee and deposit were taken immediately. From that point on, however, I spent weeks constantly following up because I was rarely given proactive updates. Almost every conversation ended with me asking, **"Do you have everything you need, or is there anything else you need from me?"** Instead of receiving a clear answer, there… always seemed to be another delay or another reason my application couldn't move forward.

I provided every document requested, including my employment offer letter, HR verification, pay information, and anything else they asked for.

The communication was extremely poor. I was told that a regional manager would contact me, but I waited over a week and never received a phone call. Every time I reached out, I was told someone would get back to me, yet no one ever did.

To make matters worse, I originally applied because the home was expected to be available on **August 21**, which matched my relocation date. After weeks of waiting, I was informed that the availability had been pushed back to **September 19** and even then, they could not guarantee the home would actually be ready. By that point, I had already been planning my cross-country move based on the original timeline.

After nearly a month of delays, uncertainty, and lack of communication, I requested a refund. Once again, I was simply told that someone would call me, but I was left waiting with no resolution.

Relocating is already stressful enough. What made this experience so frustrating was not just the delays, but the lack of transparency, accountability, and communication. If management knew there were issues or delays, they should have communicated them clearly instead of leaving applicants to constantly chase updates.

The Chester may have beautiful homes, but based on my experience, the management and application process were incredibly disappointing. I hope they improve their communication, treat applicants' time with more respect, and stop collecting deposits immediately while leaving people in limbo for weeks.

Update 9/8: Unfortunately, I still have not heard from Corporate Management as mentioned in the response below, and my $300 deposit has still not been refunded. It has now been four weeks with no call or clear update. I want an update on the status of my refund. Read More
