Unethical Move-Out Charges After 7 Years
We lived in this property for 7 years, always paid rent on time, and took good care of the unit. At move-out, we were shocked to see charges for replacing blinds due to “bite marks.” After so many years of normal wear and tear, this feels unreasonable and unethical. There was no clear communication or attempt to discuss the issue before adding the charge to our final statement.
It’s disappointing that after being long-term, responsible tenants, the management chose to nickel-and-dime over... something that should be considered normal aging of the unit. Future renters should take detailed move-in and move-out photos and be cautious about what they might be charged for later.
