Somerset Place

This apartment building has potential to be nice and is reasonably priced but is extremely mismanaged. The owners are based in another state and the leasing staff is only part time, making it easy for problems to stack up quickly. Although the units have air, there is no working central air in the building itself. This makes the hallways and “amenities” extremely hot during summer. The trash is constantly overflowing and locked in a garage, which smells terrible during warmer months. The... hallways and common areas are often dirty for weeks at a time and there have been issues with residents smoking in their units, causing entire hallways to smell like smoke since there is no airflow in them. It is also nearly impossible to get mail or packages in this building. UPS, Amazon, etc do not have access to get inside the building, making it impossible to get packages if you are not home. Many of the locks on mailboxes are broken and USPS will refuse to deliver your mail. The leasing office and local post office both refuse to fix this problem; each blames the other party. This place is wonderful and timely with everything needed. However the property manager(s) are only part time and aren’t always incredibly responsive to emails or calls when they are off work during the week.
