Snagging This Apartment Was Very Lucky

When I was looking for an apt, it was very last minute, I had just experienced a house fire which left my home but a shell. Looking for a new place with very little time since my renter's insurance only covered a month at the hotel. My old home was only two streets over from The Worthington Towers, passing them every day on my way to work, I had assumed it was an old folks home. Ahahaha But seeing the apts available sign, I called anyways and to my surprise didn't have to be a certain age than... the usual at least 18, and got a viewing right that week. I loved the apt, mine was the only unit out of 60 with a dishwasher(lucky duck I am). Viewed, signed and got confirmation that I could move in by the next week. I was so ecstatic with their quick response rate considering the major background check they have to go through.

I've now lived here for a year and 4 months, very little I've found to dislike. My landlord and her family are amazing people and have been endlessly kind. They go above and beyond to make this building a fun surprise, along with somehow being on top of everything needed to be done at the same time. There's always a candy dish, they buy community toys for the kids at the pool, charcoal for the community grill even though the rules state that they don't have to, very close and and know everyone and make sure everyone is taken care of. Its so nice to be able to call the landlord directly instead of having to go through the building owners, especially when your kitchen is flooding. ^-^' Maintenance here is great, nothing is forgotten and the team they picked out is very kind and not the usual creepy scummy looking guys you would expect to get. Clean, well kept, polite.

What I enjoy the most is how quiet my building is. Having a young child can be difficult alone and when its bedtime, you want it to be bedtime and not hear ridiculous noises that anger you too much to sleep or keep your child up. Most of the residents are elderly, which I am more than fine with. I feel comfortable enough to not panic if I've left my door unlocked all day.

I'd say the only complaints I could possibly have is the elevator gets stuck very often or just shuts down, I've only been stuck once and it was very brief thanks to the landlords daughter coming to my rescue. Its not their fault, its very old and needs replaced badly which takes quite a bit of funding. The electrical sockets scare me and most of them won't fit any of my plugs or have covers. my review wont
