Management shenanigans, and fees
I lived at this apartment complex several years ago. The apartments were relatively nice, and the area was quiet and pleasant.
On my move-in date, the office was unexpectedly closed. I had to reschedule my entire move, which was costly an incredibly inconvenient.
Unfortunately, management issues and excessive fees overshadowed the positives. Ground-floor units had moisture problems, and my move-in was mishandled when the office was unexpectedly closed, forcing me to reschedule. For pet owners,... management required dog DNA swabs to track pet waste and charged residents based on the results, which felt invasive.
At move-out, I was charged an unreasonable amount for minor carpet stains that should have been considered normal wear and tear. Between surprise fees and poor management practices, it often felt like residents were being nickel-and-dimed
