Do not recommend

Do not recommend if you value your health and peace of mind

We moved into Gates Mills Place (managed by K&D Management), and within the first week we discovered bed bug bites throughout the unit. Based on the timing, the infestation was most likely already present before we moved in — but management's first response was to suggest we "may have picked them up from the elevator."

We treated the unit ourselves as thoroughly as possible: professional-grade vacuuming, steam treatment, and two… different chemical treatments — the smell alone made the apartment barely livable for hours. Despite all of that, fresh bites appeared again the very next day.

An inspector finally came out today, but treatment has been scheduled for a full week from now. That means we're being asked to continue living — and sleeping — in a unit with a confirmed infestation for another seven days, with no offer of alternative housing or compensation so far.

If you're considering moving into a new unit here, inspect the mattress and furniture carefully before signing anything. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone — spending your first weeks in a new home covered in bites instead of settling in, and then waiting even longer for help.

Enforcement on visitor parking overnight!

The one negative thing I can point out is that after 9pm, good luck finding a parking spot. I believe they’re people not on the lease parking overnight. This should be enforced with each resident getting a placard on their vehicle or something. The other night I had to park in targets parking lot. Besides that, it’s a great place to live!

Very Secure Place

I have been living in this place for 1 year. The maintenance people are very friendly. once had left the key to my apartment in my house and when i approached the maintenance people, they helped me getting in by giving a spare key. It is a wonderful place to live in. I enjoy the lively environment here. my child also likes to play by the swimming pool in the summer. All i all i will rate this place as a very safe and secure.

Current Resident

I have been a resident here at the 6809 Mayfield Rd Gatesmills Place since September 2020 when I relocated back from Arizona. Although my first two years I was not as satisfied as I am today, and it is all due to the New Leasing office, Customer Service person Judy, and Maintenance personnel. I am retired and spend a lot of time home, therefore, I easily notice that the halls are vacuum a couple times a week, the laundry room is kept much cleaner with the new machines being a welcome. Our… Customer Service person Judy is absolutely great with taking the time to assist everyone with their needs, or issues, and most importantly she is extremely easy to communicate with, and very friendly. My first couple of years here, I seriously considered moving out, but then we got this new team of people that actually do their very best to keep everything working. Therefore, I am very comfortable here, I love my space, and for now I am content.
