Beautiful building and great service
I moved in in December 2025 so it’s been a few months of living at The Roe at Manayunk.
Overall, one of the best experiences living in a rental unit ever. I moved almost every year for the past decade and lived in many states and two countries and can honestly say this community deserves a 5-star review.
- The building and amenities are very beautiful with a special historical cachet that is rare. I want to thank the owners of the community for undertaking what I imagine was a challenging... project. From what I read renovating older buildings such as an old church can come with added complexities and costs, but I am grateful they were able to renovate the building I live in and making it modern while keeping historical aspects.
- This is a smaller-sized community with about 30-40 other tenants so it truly feels boutique-like. The staff on site, Aleyna (property manager), her assistants and the maintenance crew are all top notch. Very professional and go above and beyond to keep the community clean (it always smells good and looks impeccable in all common areas). They even wall mounted my TV at no additional cost similar to what another review said. In addition, when they were snow storms, they even removed the snow off of not only the parking lot but also off of our cars to echo what another review said. Never seen such dedication to excellent service in a rental community, it sometimes feels like a 5-star hotel. I think they even use the same diffuser you’d find in a luxury hotel.
- The other residents are all very nice and respectful. Something that seems common in so many rentals nowadays is the smell of cigarettes or marijuana, this is something I have never smelled here which is a big plus to me.
- The apartments are definitely on the higher range price-wise for Manayunk but I’d say you do get more than other communities I’d consider prior to moving in.
- There are a few hiccups here and there probably related to the building’s age, but I trust that the team will do their best to resolve.
Overall, a great living experience! Thank you to everyone on site for all the work that you put in on a daily basis.

Thank you for sharing your experience and thoughtful reflections on The Roe at Manayunk. For over 50 years, we have been building communities throughout the greater Philadelphia area, and The Roe is unquestionably our finest achievement—and... personally, my favorite. It was created to make a statement: that our historic buildings should be preserved and thoughtfully repositioned, not demolished. At the same time, it showcases how energy efficiency, sustainable design, and meaningful green spaces can enhance both comfort and quality of life. We carefully evaluated every space with a focus on how people truly live and work—how they move through their homes, what features matter most, and how to create an environment that feels both functional and inspiring. Countless ideas and innovations were discussed and ultimately built into what The Roe is today. Many of these features are subtle and not immediately visible, yet they contribute greatly to the sense of comfort and well-being you so eloquently described. Perhaps one day we’ll offer a tour to highlight these hidden details. Your beautifully written review captures exactly what we hoped The Roe would deliver. I have never had the opportunity to work with a more talented group of professionals. Their passion, creativity, and determination were extraordinary. Many have worked on some of the largest projects in the city, yet I believe their work at The Roe stands among their very best. By the time construction was completed, our team was exhausted—in the best possible way. It was the kind of fulfillment that comes from achieving something meaningful, much like finishing a marathon. Today, our talented on-site management and maintenance team continues to build on that foundation. They consistently bring new ideas and energy to enhance the resident experience, adding their own imprint to the community. The Roe has been incredibly well received, with a strong waiting list and a diverse, welcoming resident population. We often hear how kind and engaging our residents are—something that truly brings the community to life. Looking ahead, our goal is to continue delivering a living experience that feels comparable to a five-star hotel. Thank you again for your kind words and for being part of The Roe community.
