Leaser Beware
I recently applied to move into the apartment. My application was successful, and was immediately charged the $199 admin fee that is due upon move-in. Due to a recent surgery, I inquired about a later availability. Everything thus far was done by phone/online. When I viewed the apartment in person, it did not live up to the pictures. It looks like they took the pictures when the complex was first built, because it is not new in person. In the stairwell, there was lots of dog poop, dirt, and... cobwebs. Inside the unit, there was a large water stain on the ceiling and tape on the damaged balcony screen. I canceled the application. Despite paying the $50 application fee and never signing an actual lease, I was charged an additional $199 deposit, which is nonrefundable.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. After speaking with you directly, we were glad to have the opportunity to clarify the details surrounding your application and address your... concerns. As discussed, the decision to cancel your application was ultimately based on personal circumstances unrelated to the overall appeal or standards of our community. We also want to clarify for future readers that the $199 charge referenced is an administrative fee, not a deposit. This is clearly outlined in the application process and is refundable only if the application is canceled within 72 hours of submission. We appreciate the opportunity to speak with you and are pleased that we were able to come to a mutual understanding and resolve the matter. We wish you all the best in your housing search.
