Very Satisfied Tenants!
After reading many less-than-kind reviews about Andover Park Apartments (APA), and now being in our fourth year of living here, I feel compelled to share our positive experience.
My wife and I moved to APA after retiring and relocating from another state. Transitioning to a fixed income played a significant role in our decision to apply. Though we looked at many properties, the location is simply terrific! APA is close to numerous churches, the YMCA, Downtown, shopping centers, workplaces,... healthcare providers, and more. One of the biggest bonuses is its direct access to the Swamp Rabbit Trail, perfect for walking, running, or biking.
Throughout our time here, the grounds have been consistently maintained with weekly landscaping services, and the property has seen numerous improvements: repainting, new balconies, repaved parking areas, new retaining walls, a pickleball court, a dog park, and more. Pest control is also performed regularly every three months.
Over the years, we’ve encountered the occasional maintenance issue—normal for any residential complex. Alan and Travis with maintenance, who have been here since our arrival, are true professionals who know the property well. Newer team members, Adam and Stetson, have also brought valuable experience. Have all our issues been resolved as quickly as we’d like? Honestly, no. But let’s be fair—when you're living in a complex built in 1977 with over 200 units, your issue may not always be the top priority. Being patient and reasonable—and working with management (Amber has been fantastic!) and the maintenance staff—goes a long way toward a better tenant-landlord relationship.
We have found APA to be safe, and we enjoy positive relationships with our neighbors. It’s also important to remember that not everyone will share your schedule or lifestyle. Your neighbor might work nights, come and go at odd hours, or have different habits or cultural backgrounds. Like you, they’re just trying to live in peace and make their way in this complex world.
In closing: If you’re looking for granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, nightly turndown service, and neighbors exactly like you, APA might not be the place for you. But if you're working, retired, relocating, starting out—or starting over—and you value affordability, location, safety, and responsive staff, Andover Park Apartments is well worth your consideration.
(No, I do not work for, nor do I have any connection to, APA—just a very satisfied tenant!)
