The manager is not on top of the property at all. There is trash all around the buildings. Trash cans are overflowing with dog poop. The building never get sprayed so there are spiders, cockroaches, and wasp nests all within the buildings. Maintance takes forever to fix the issue that you may have which for us has been the dishwasher that always seems broken and always flooding. Whenever they do come to “fix” it, well…it is broken within that day or two. Then you are back to square one trying to… get someone out. You have to call multiple times in order for them to actually come out urgently. The building are run down and not taken care off. I wish I could add a picture of how many spiders are over you head just walking from the apartment door to the car. Absolutely disgusting. I asked a couple times if they could spray the building and instead they have someone use a leaf blower…. Which doesn’t help at all. Just stay away. If you are military stay away! Office leader (Gail) and florence staff can be rude at times, and rarely returns your calls. Maintenance do fix things eventually, but seems partial to some tenants and hardly ever returns their calls, and takes forever to come and fix things. They let the tenants liter and leave dog mess, trash and beer cans all over the grounds.

We have rented a 2 bedroom apartment in Ashton Mills Apartment complex in Sumter SC. Upon our initial walk through we noticed that the entrance door had a massive dent, window broken in one of the bedrooms and dust all over. The place wasn't cleaned properly for acceptance. How are they passing on an apartment is such conditions ? The dishwasher was constantly leaking and bad smell from the sewer was coming through. The AC was extremely inefficient and our electric bill was outrageous.The one… lady in the office by the name Gail - never returned any calls, never responded to any messages, she was rude, unfriendly and very dismissive. Several tenants had complaint about her arrogant behavior.
When we escalated our complaint to upper management they were just as rude and unwilling to offer any kind of help or understanding of any military circumstances. We have never experienced such an insulating approach to our situation. I would highly advise everybody, especially military family to please stay away, save yourselves the trouble and run as fast as you can from them. There are other beautiful, better places aka. Palmetto Point - with extremely friendly staff,ready to help, high quality units at a much lower price with washer and dryer in the units -
In conclusion : Ashton Mills Apartments are pitiful,very poor quality of service, outdated appliances (no washer and dryer in the units), overpriced, rude and disrespectful staff.. stay away... Read More

Ashton Mills Apartments is a newer complex that is still added more complexes.

PROS: Very nice area and people. Staff is standard to any complex. I like the care taken to keep the grounds mowed and up kept. Parking is great!! Also enjoy the pool area as it is perfect for my 5 year old.

CONS: Not enough sound barrier material between walls ( could be better). Some people don't pick up after their pets. Needs to have a car wash / care area.
