Would be fantastic with better management.
This should be a 4 or 5 star complex, but the new management company is awful. They are difficult to contact- the office is only open by appointment, and when you try to call you get directed someplace random; I had a question about a maintenance issue and somehow got directed to the payment call center in Virginia Beach, VA (I'm in Addison, TX).
Maintenance has also become an issue. Jacob, our maintenance manager is fantastic, but he does not have the support he needs and is often called away... to other Avalon complexes in the area, so we do not always have maintenance on site. My dishwasher has been unusable for two and a half weeks, and my refrigerator has been partially functional for the same period. For the amount of money charged for the apartment, that is really unacceptable.
Having said all of that, the apartments themselves are really nice. My second floor apartment has vaulted ceilings and an attached garage and generously sized rooms. The grounds are generally nice with the exceptions of the building-mounted lights; these were recently replaced with glaringly white lights that shine right into windows. I can read in my living room at night without having a single light on in the apartment.
With some small tweaks, these apartments would be great, but as of right now they're much less than they could be.
