AMLI Lakeline

I found out about AMLI Lakeline through my Smart City apartment locator, Hannah. I decided to tour this apartment last minute and was thoroughly impressed, so much so that I decided this will be the next place I call home. Juan helped me so much during my visit. He was warm, personable, and incredibly thorough when answering my questions, and he showed me multiple options for move-in dates, amenities, and floor plans. I’ve had a very frustrating experience living at AMLI Lakeline. While the location is convenient, the management makes living here a constant headache with their excessive hidden fees and unfair violation charges.

First off, the fees here are outrageous. They charge for everything under the sun, from "administration fees" to "service charges", none of which are clearly explained upfront. On top of that, the violation fees are completely unreasonable. I’ve been hit with charges for minor things... that shouldn’t even be considered violations, and it feels like they’re just trying to find ways to nickel-and-dime tenants.

The building itself is poorly managed and maintained. Their cleaning standards are very low, the pet smell are strong near the side door. That security door has broken so many times in one year. But they spend a lot of time finding a way to harshly check things like your patio, your trash, your pet litter, which is completely unfair. For example, I bought a $200 tool to keep my patio clean every week, but despite my efforts, I was still cited for having a patio with "urine-like stains" and yellow discoloration. That is from the stone color!!

To make matters worse, the management is unresponsive and unhelpful when it comes to maintenance requests. I’ve had ongoing issues with my AC and dishwasher, and despite multiple attempts to get these problems addressed, I either get no response or vague explanations that don’t lead anywhere. It feels like they’re intentionally dragging their feet to avoid handling basic issues.

I’ve lived in several apartments over the years, and I’ve never encountered a place where it feels like the management is so focused on finding ways to charge tenants at every opportunity, while providing such poor customer service and maintenance support. Read More

Do NOT rent here. They re nice at first before you sign the lease then it’s hell. There’s no cellphone signal. There’s dog poop on the hallways. The dog areas are gross. They’re rude and no one ever answers the phone. Not only that at the end they’ll try to charge you to change a whole carpet because you were the unlucky person to have rented on the second year of life of the carpet so you they want to assign you the honor of charging you to replace the whole thing. The carpet was not damaged by... the way they were just trying to make some money off of us. When we fought for what was right they ignored emails and calls. In the end they pretended we didn’t want to pay and sent our account to collections. Ridiculous because we were the ones trying to get ahold of them! Horrible experience, horrible apartment complex, horrible management.

Oh, I hope the garage gates are fixed because when we moved in they were “not functioning” and when we left a year later the gates were still missing. You really don’t get what you pay for. Read More

If you value sleep then stay away. Fire alarms go off all the time for no reason. Security is bad, they never fix anything. If a cold front is coming you better run, since the fire alarm will go off nearly nonstop for days as the building is so cheaply constructed that below 32 degrees all the pipes spontaneously explode. They also have frequent power outages so live here if you enjoy the dark ages.

I recently moved into The Elizabeth and I have to say, the beginning was a little rocky but at the end of the day I believe it's how you handle situations that shows your true colors. The management and staff bent over backwards to make everything right and have done just that. I have to say, I'm looking forward to my time living here as it's such a beautiful property and in the perfect location.
