The Sidney

This place used to be great a couple years ago when I moved in. It was a little run down but the price and location made it worthwhile. The last management company who bought it have let it fall apart, and seem to be actively make it worse. They charge for trash valet that doesn't pick up the trash so there are now the usual problems that come along with it. They do not answer phones or texts and there's no office to go find anyone. I had no heat for two months last winter. Others have ceiling... leaks and rodent problems. No way to get a hold of anyone, ever. They do send us a lot of spam though. We have a crime problem now so they installed gates. Only the gates don't actually keep anyone out. They do slam at all hours of the night, loud enough to rattle the walls. It's not worth it. The Sidney is a terrific community! The new manager Monique has done a ton of work to improve the property and it shows. The renovated units are gorgeous and the pool is awesome! In terms of area, you couldn't ask for more. Hyde Park is amazing and there are a ton of restaurants, shops & parks within walking distance. It's so nice to see this charming community finally reach it's full potential!

First things first, the apartments are well kept and updated. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Unfortunately, the management cannot get themselves together and have ruined this lovely complex.

When I moved in, I was told they would need to redo the cement in front of my door so I would need to not go in or out for 10 hours. When I went home after the time window they gave me, it was clear they didn't do it. I got a half apology and then had to reschedule and not be home for 10 hours on a... second day.

The laundry units are extremely nice but for some reason they decided to redo it, resulting in no laundry facilities for more than 2 months!!! In that time, we were in no way compensated and not kept well informed. Now the laundry room is done, and every single time I go to do laundry, at least half of the units are not working. The laundry was much better before they redid it. We are never informed of what they are doing to fix the issue and if they do email us about the laundry, it is just "Hey we are trying to get it sorted out, Thanks for the patience." At this point we should be getting a credit to lower our rent considering we haven't have reliable laundry for 8 months. I rented this place expecting to have a laundry room. Get it together.
