This apartment complex has 30 units ranging from efficiency to 2-bed. (I live in a 1-bed.) They were built in 1969 and the neighborhood is 100 years old. Other buildings in the area range from 1910 to present day.

This neighborhood (Knox-Henderson) is considered one of the most walkable in Texas. The apartments have easy access to the Katy Trail and to Central Expressway. If you like walking or bike riding, then this complex is in the perfect location for it.

The downside of this apartment... is that there are no balconies and no pool, but the surrounding area is nice enough that these negatives don't really matter to me. Plus, they help keep the rent costs down. From what I can gather from my neighbors, the cheap rent is one of the biggest reasons they stay here: it is ridiculously low for this part of town. Before I found this place, I went to an apartment finder with a certain pricein mind and was literally laughed out the door. A month later, I found this place and paid $100/month LESS than what I had asked for.

When I firsr moved here, my original plan was to stay for two years then find some place better. But considering the great location and the low cost, I quickly decided that I would be here a long time.

One more thing: This part of town typically attracts single adults from college age to mid-fifties (I'm forty-four), and there are hardly any children in the area. However, my young daughter stays with me quite often and she loves it here as much as I do. Read More
