Not worth the price

Complex is getting dated, appliances are scratched and do not function properly, includes fridge and clothes dryer. Bathroom fixtures are old and have rust in them. They are about to tear down a commercial building at 2626 McKinney and build so it will be a construction zone. The fitness center is small, pool has limited sun, I could go on. With all the foregoing they are charging premium rents and I have found much better fit and finish elsewhere and moving on from my residency here.

Good Location, Lackluster Service

I've been at Gables McKinney Ave for almost a year now. The location is the best part. Staff are friendly, but currently stretched too thin. There are frequently broken doors/locks/building access issues. At first, I put in service requests frequently, but after some time noticed that the completed "repairs" typically didn't last. I put numerous maintenance requests in for the washer not working in my unit, not until the third request after a couple repairs, did the washer get replaced. Similar... with the A/C, 3 requests in sequential months and we may finally have a permanent solution. The service does not match the price point in my opinion.

Communication is subpar. I was quoted the wrong monthly totals during my final months living here, and actually charged more than previously agreed upon. If you move here, do it for the location, nothing else.

The unit is fantastic but but HVAC leaves much to be desired. Poor insulation to the hallway means, even when it’s 45° out, the apartment will heat to ~73° if the AC is off. In the summer, the AC can’t keep up with the heat either, leaving the unit uncomfortably hot and humid.

apartment located at prime location, right above whole foods is very convenient. Staff is very friendly and maintenance is very responsive. apartment is overall well maintained. very pet friendly for dog owners. unit is also well maintained and amenities are great
