MAA Katy Trail

The staff at MAA Katy Trail have issues with honesty. They are repeated blaming the residents the faulty elevators or making up crazy stories such as the thunderstorm made the elevators quit working (is there a hole in the roof??).

Despite being told we have an independent security team, there have been a rash of car break ins and attempted apartment break ins. While there are security cameras, they are somehow always off. After 16 cars were broken in to on July 6, we were told that the… flooding which occurred on June 30 damaged the cameras. HOWEVER, when a car was stole on June 17, the owner was told the cameras were broken. So which is it? Probably both are lies, especially because the flooding was at the back of the building and no water affected the front of the building. They managed to paint the building but not fix the security cameras WHY?

And on that note, during the painting and the flood clean up, they simply left the gates wide open. The fob access to the elevator was turned off and basically anyone and everyone could get into the building.

Bottom line, the staff LIES CONSTANTLY and it goes all the way up to the Corporate level. They claim this property is "the picture of uptown luxury"...God save us if that is the truth. Read More

Elevators are always down, fire alarms go off at random.
Car theft, apartments getting broken into, homeless people in lobby. Visitors cannot get in because boxes at the front are not getting fixed despite the fact that they were replaced. Lights could light a light bulb. This building is more worried about finding new renters and making cosmetic changes than they are about prioritizing current residents. Many long time residents are moving out this year.

I’ve lived here for three months and was sent an email to leave a review on my experience so far. In these three months, the elevator has been broken, I kid you not, 4 times. One of the times it was broken around thanksgiving and it stayed broken for about three weeks. This means taking stairs or walking all the way around the building to the front elevator and walking all the way back to your apartment every single day. Also, when I first moved in they didn’t have the fobs so I would literally… be locked out of my building even though they took my deposit and rent payment right on time. I was informed that this happened to 7 other move ins that week. Talk about unprepared and talk about an old elevator. If that sounds like a deal breaker to you, definitely do not sign here. I cannot recommend living here enough! I have been here for two years and am sad to leave. Not only is the building and apartments up to date, clean, quiet, and safe, but management actually cares about their residents and are unbelievably responsive to any questions, concerns, or comments. The location is also unbeatable. Living on the trail is a major perk and I have loved being able to walk to west village or the heart of uptown. I tell everyone to live here, my experience has been fantastic.
