NEO at Midtown Apartments

Honestly, Neo at Midtown isn’t a bad place to live. The stay itself was a solid 3.5 out of 5. Maintenance kept it together, trash was never a real issue, and the community had a decent energy. No major complaints about the day to day.

The problem is the revolving door of management. Every time leadership changed it felt like things got a little worse, not better. Communication gaps became the norm. Case in point: the property gates were non-functional for roughly 10 months out of the year and a... half we lived there. No updates. No timeline. No communication to residents about a basic safety feature being down for the better part of our entire stay. That alone should tell you everything about how this management team prioritizes the people living here.

By the time we were transferring units within the same property those same communication gaps caught up with us in a bigger way. They had a full month to prep our new unit. I checked in nearly every other day through February. Nobody flagged a single issue. We showed up March 1st with a U-Haul as existing residents and were told the apartment wasn’t ready.

When we asked about compensation for the costs we absorbed, the leasing partner had zero empathy and zero solutions. I ended up bypassing Neo entirely and contacting the acquiring company. Regional manager was on the phone within 72 hours. That’s what it took for existing tenants to be treated like people.

Ace, Alonzo, and Eric do what they can. But one bad link in the chain and an institution that doesn’t back its residents will cost you. Ours cost us time, money, and a move-out experience we should have never had to fight through. Read More

I lived here from 2018-2022. When the new management took over, the complex went downhill quickly from their neglect.

They never fixed the doors that led from your hallway to the streets, resulting in individuals sleeping in the stairwell and making a makeshift fort in the stairwell.

They use and advocate for a towing company that will take advantage of you. My friend came to visit and registered his car under the app that they need you to use. However, he missed his license plate number by... one digit and although everything else was correct (the make, year, model) of his car, they towed him. We expressed this to management and they said it wasn’t their issue. Which obviously resulted in $300 expenses and we both missed a day of work to get his car.

They don’t clean the trash. Please ask to visit the trash chutes and you’ll see the neglect.

They boot residents cars for parking in visitor’s spots, they don’t even have enough parking spots for their residents.

The apartment is owned by the towing company, they have no say so whatsoever. This apartment complex changed more regulations in a year span than the White House in the whole of American history lifetime.

We called a bajillion, and one time about mold in the apartment but no maintenance showed up until we fixed it ourselves.

I've been living here since January 2022 and would not recommend this complex. I was welcomed on move in day with roaches crawling up the walls. The apartments are old and falling apart. I've had several instances where the doorknobs fell off the door and I have to screw them back in myself. I was promised a renovated apartment but the renovations were done very cheaply and do not look like the images online. For example, the baseboards in the kitchen and bathroom have chipped and peeling paint... which I requested to be re-painted prior to move in but was never done. It takes on average 1-2 months for maintenance requests to be acknowledged and that is with constantly emailing the property staff to remind them of my requests. My washing machine is old and not draining properly and I have requested this be fixed or replaced but my maintenance work orders are closed without the washing machine being fixed. The top floor of the parking garage is dark and not safe at night. Many of the lights there have stopped working and were never replaced. Believe the majority negative reviews and live elsewhere.
