The Lucas Apartments

My boyfriend and I moved into The Lucas a little over a year ago. Our overall experience living here has been extremely disappointing due to the poor maintenance, lack of cleanliness, and serious safety concerns throughout the rest of the property.

The elevator near the garage is missing a middle panel with exposed wiring that is easily accessible. The pool area has also been a major letdown. The lounge chairs that are meant for residents to relax on are completely destroyed. Almost every chair... has large slashes in them, appearing vandalized, and they have not been repaired or replaced.

Security is a constant concern. Multiple doors that are supposed to remain locked for resident safety either do not shut properly or do not lock at all. The stairwells are especially neglected—covered in cobwebs on every step and clearly not cleaned or washed in years. The stairwell doors themselves are broken and unsecured, which has been an ongoing issue for over six months with no meaningful effort to fix them.

This lack of security directly led to the final decision for us to break our lease. A homeless man was sleeping in the stairwell directly next to our front door for weeks. During this time, we repeatedly contacted security, only to be sent to voicemail, and it appeared no action was taken. On two separate occasions, we encountered this individual actively using meth while we were exiting our apartment to walk our dogs. He was able to access the building because the stairwell door was broken and unsecured, a problem management has long been aware of.

Despite advertising as a pet-friendly community, this property has not been maintained in a way that supports pet owners. Dog waste bags have been consistently empty at every station since we moved in, and dog waste lines the sidewalks and outdoor areas. Animals are also urinating and defecating in the hallways and stairwells, which has caused noticeable odors throughout the building.

The property continues to become dirtier over time rather than improve.The condition of the shared spaces, lack of cleanliness, and repeated disregard for resident safety made it impossible for us to continue living here.

Unless these issues are taken seriously and addressed, we would not recommend The Lucas. These problems clearly predate our move-in—there are reviews over a year old describing the same ongoing concerns. Read More

Please don’t live here. It’s absolutely horrible. No safety, car break ins and car theft occurs often. So so so dirty (poop, urine, trash everywhere), everything is broken at all times every day all year (doors, gates, gym equipment, amenities trashed) homeless people break in and live in amenities. Packages always stolen. Rude front desk. Dangerous neighborhood. Shootings are regular.

I have been living at The Lucas Apartments for the past 9 months and I have to say, it has been an amazing experience!

The apartments themselves are beautifully designed with modern fixtures and appliances. The floor plans are spacious and open, which makes it easy to decorate and make the space feel like your own.

One of the best things about living at Lucas Apartments is the location. It's situated in a great area with easy access to restaurants, shops, and entertainment. There are ample... parks (and tennis courts) nearby, which is perfect for those who enjoy outdoor activities.

The amenities at Lucas Apartments are top-notch. The fitness center is fully equipped with all the latest equipment, and there's even a yoga studio for those who prefer a more zen workout. The pool and lounge area are perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun on a hot day, and the rooftop terrace provides breathtaking views of the city.

Lastly, the staff at Lucas Apartments are amazing. They are always friendly and attentive to any needs or concerns that I have. The maintenance team is also quick to respond to any issues that may arise.

Viví allí por 10 meses, dos perros pitbull sueltos atacaron mi perro de servicio y la administración no hizo nada, solo decir lo siento y con esto me pagaron todo el daño y tener que seguir viendo los dos perros pitbull sueltos en los pasillos, cuiden sus niños de estos animales, y los pasillos sucios todo el tiempo, no recomiendo vivir allí

Let me say, if you want your car broken into and/or stolen.. this is the apartment complex for you! My car has been stolen from this property and broken into on several occassions while being parked in the resident garage. Needless to say, I pay $50 extra a month for this parking space and it does me no good.

The police caught the culprits and the apartment complex refused to show me the footage which makes me feel even less safe while living here. More than likely, I come across the culprits... occassionally and don't even know it.

Management is also unresponsive if you have a problem or simple question. The complex had potiental but it has declined over the years.

There is trash throughout the complex and roaches in the hallways.

We have weekly drive-bys and shootings around the property. Random people and houseless individuals roam right outside the complex day and night. For someone who has a dog and needs to walk them multiple times a day... I do not feel safe here.
