Willow Lake Apartments

I’ve lived here for three years and the downstairs neighbors apartment caught fire. The security officer was too scared to break the window because he was worried they would charge him for it, WE put the fire out before the first responders got there and even saved their pets that were in the room that was burning. I was already getting ready to move into a larger apartment which was going to be ready about 2 weeks out. Was called and told the apartment had been ready for a few days already and… that I could be given keys to expedite the process to get the apartment cleaned and hopefully transfer the downstairs residents. I figure ok I’m getting keys early as a courtesy to get out faster so they could clean. Wrong. I was presented a new contract In order to prorate my rent at the new rate which I found odd and when I called I was told what happened downstairs was none of my concern.. except my bedroom in directly above the burning room. The apartment I was moved into was clearly not move in ready as the front door handle came off as soon as I grabbed it. The refrigerator is not operating properly. The bathroom door does not close. I email about these as the door is an urgency... especially after the fire situation and was told to fill out the move in assessment and they would put in a service request. Completely unacceptable. When I presented all these things and spoke about my discomfort in proceeding with a lease in a apartment that I do not feel safe in but was told I would be breaching the contract which would go against my rental history ***********
UPDATE****
I’ve lived in the second apartment a year and just moved out. The water heater exploded 4 times in the year I lived there and I just reviewed a statement stating they found a red stain (that i have never seen in my life) in one of the bedrooms and they are charging me 500 dollars for the repair of the entire carpet throughout the apartment. They have kept the deposit which I expected but have added every fee available to total almost 900 dollars after I’ve had to suffer with two children and my dog while my apartment flooded and they temporarily fixed the problem which once again was not a solution. I would never recommend this complex to anyone looking for a safe place for their family. Complete negligence from this community and rude staff in the front office. Very peaceful area, the workers in the office is very nice. Clean environment. Animal friendly

Welcoming staff, nice neighborhood area great convenient to stores and highway. The effort and response time to resolve compliants are good.

I am very satisfied with my move into Willow Lake. At first there were some bumps in the road as the sink and fridge leaked but the management and staff were so responsive that it was a non issue. I enjoy the quite area, I'm not sure if its the walls or just my neighbors also being quite but it is very nice not hearing any walking above me as I had at my last apartment.
