Major Build Quality Issues
I would look elsewhere for an apartment.
There are plenty other apartments in the area that you will be glad you picked instead of Livano.
First, the unit, the build quality leaves a lot to be desired.
The most important is the A/C which is HORRIBLE, we have a 2br and keep the thermostat at 69 all day, when the afternoon sun shines in our apartment gets up to 74 degrees (with windows and blinds shut and without running stove/oven) called maintenance multiple times and the response is “it’s... blowing cold.” Unless you like sleeping warm, I’d recommend living elsewhere .
The electrical is subpar, the lights will flicker and pulse when you run a vacuum or turn too many switches on or run the bedroom fans. Even the shower lights flicker the entire time the showers are running which is super annoying.
Second, is the facilites themselves.
The elevators go down way more often than is acceptable and they will be down days at a time. The fire alarms go off for no reason a few times a month. The pool has been closed for months with nothing but excuses from management. The breezeways go in cleaned with stains and cobwebs and the stairwells are even worse.
The train:
They will tell you when you tour that the city is trying to get the train to stop blowing the horn in city limits, I’m sure that’s true but until that day comes you’ll be stuck with it. Beware, it comes at least 3-4 times during the day and at least 2-3 times after 9pm. The train horn is LOUD. Do not be fooled, it doesn’t bother me much as a heavy sleeper but it is annoying during the day.
The management is nice and they are helpful. The internet is super fast and mostly reliable (gone down twice in 5 months). The gym is ok and the indoor/outdoor workout area is a nice touch. No issues with parking lots filling up. The electric car chargers are few and far between and don’t always work. The registration with Spartan Parking is annoying and takes forever but management is terminating their contract so hopefully the next towing company will have a better process.
Overall I like my unit and I don’t mind living here, but the A/C and electrical issues drive me nuts. Unfortunately there’s no fixing either of those issues because it has to do with the way these apartments were built. If you don’t care about that stuff I would say the location is great and you’ll love it!
