I have been having issues with the kitchen sink filling up with water coming from the drainage line since the beginning of my lease. The water level consistently overflows onto my kitchen floor and floods the kitchen, dining area, portions of the living area, the bathroom on the opposite wall, and the bedroom carpet as well.

This issue started back in February of this year and has been a recurring problem as the months have gone by. This leaves a sewage smell lingering in my apartment for days... on end, along with covering all the wet surfaces with a thin layer of grease and muck from the drainage line. I have submitted multiple requests to have the issue fixed. The property managers only go as far as submitting a plumbing request to vacuum the water and unclog the drain, but no extensive repairs have been done to prevent the issue from recurring. No one on property has provided any assistance with cleaning up the residue either, which has left me to expose myself to the sewage directly. I've had to throw away and replace a number of items that came into contact with this sewage water so that I don't further expose myself to any lingering contaminants.

I have also begun to notice mold growing in the saturated areas (walls, floor boards, carpet) and fear negative health risks to myself and my two year old child if we continue to inhabit the premises. I was not informed upon signing the lease that this recurring issue had not been resolved. There were also visible signs of water damage upon the first inspection of the unit which leads me to believe that this overflowing sink has been an ongoing problem. This is only one issue of many that makes me fear for my safety in the unit.

On top of that, the water gets shut off constantly, there are issues with some of the electrical outlets in the unit, and there are roaches EVERYWHERE.

I have requested to be moved to another unit and I keep getting the runaround on "company policy" and "we will attempt to fix the issue," but at this point it seems like the buildings need to be condemned for health violations. My unit has smelled like damp moldy water since I moved in, and the problem seems to be growing by the day. Please don't move here thinking this place might deserve a chance. Do not live here. I moved in with no notice of all the things they were working on and would impact the entire complex. From day one, they would turn the water off for anywhere between 2 and 8 hours. Maintenance requests would be submitted with no response for sometimes a week. When brought the their attention, it would be marked completed that same day even though no one came and nothing was fixed. Pipe busted in the apartment and it took a week for them to respond to me. Once they responded,... they said they were sorry and we’ll waive the apartment moving fee as though this would be helpful. I didn’t want to move apartments, I had no choice. All of my things were ruined because I could not get the help I needed to move things out and they did not shut the pipe off for 2 weeks. They again said they were sorry but the insurance I pay for through them would cover items lost. They stated they would be flexible with the payments over the next two months so I can recoup items for the apt but have been the most difficult for an apartment that is barely livable. Also, their insurance does not cover busted water pipes. Which according to other tenets and their office manager happens frequently. Which means they could’ve let us know at that time we would’ve out of luck there. Please find somewhere else before you’re trapped or breaking a lease for a better livable environment. Read More

I've been a resident at Amberhill for 3 and a half years. I currently moved from 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom 2 bath. First I was notified I was responsible for rent for the apt I was moving out of as well as the rent for the new apt I was moving into. It cost me $1800 to move in when I could have moved in elsewhere for $500 or less. New management took over AGAIN.....and promised better service, nice staff, and a safer place. I moved into a 2 bed 2 bath to work from home and have more space. I pay... for a 2 bedroom 2 bath, however since I moved in, I have had sporadic hot water, sand blasts out my shower and tub faucets. A showerhead exploded on me, shooting plastic and metal & I was cut on the hand. I've had a several plumbing companies come in last 3 months no one fixes it right. Maintenance gets sent to my apt, they make some excuse for not finishing the repair ...they say they need approval to continue or are missing tools that they will be back in 15 minutes and they never return. When I first reported my water issue, I was urged by leasing to just be released from my lease and go somewhere else. However cost for moving and time packing would be my problem NOT theirs. I've had to call code compliance before anyone lifted a finger to help with water issues. I had a leak and water just sat on my bathroom floor for 2 weeks saturating my floor getting mold. The floor was eventually repaired but the water leak was just capped off risking another possible leak. The sheetrock was eventually replaced after several of my requests. I've had to involve code compliance to help get things resolved. I don't suggest this complex!!!
