About Engine at The Masonry

Engine Company Lofts is part of the large mixed-use Shockoe Valley Heights (SVH) Development in historic Shockoe Bottom. All homes that are part of the SVH community have access to a fitness center, stunning pool, outdoor community area featuring a... fire pit and outdoor grills, and shared parking. The community puts you within walking distance of the James River, Shockoe Slip, Central Business District, Farmers Market, Canal Walk, Main Street Station, MCV, Edgar Allen Poe Museum and countless restaurants and nightlife attractions. Through careful consideration of the 18th Century Foundation, innovative design and attention to details regarding features and amenities, SVH allows the old and the new to coexist in balance and harmony. It is truly Historic Richmond. Redefined. Engine Company Lofts is the smallest, yet most architecturally significant part of the SVH Community. This phase is comprised of 2 buildings, including a sleek and imposing 5 story building juxtaposed with a meticulous painstaking renovation of a 19th Century Firehouse just next door. The corner building just next door features a vertical and sleek design. Each home has a private recessed patio or walk out terrace, state of the art finishes, and breathtaking views of the city skyline and Church Hill. Most importantly most utilities are included! That’s right - Water, sewer, trash, internet & cable TV.

LOVED IT!

I have an apartment on the 5th floor; great views, good soundproofing, nice amenities. If you have a dog do yourself a favor and move here. Neighbors are very quite and most are professionals. I am going to miss this place.

Mr Sleepless in RVA

Fantastic pool if you want to be seen, and feel like you're in the middle of things. Gym is adequate; nothing to write home about. Only problem is the Amplifier units they put in the ceilings, which magnify every sound from above, and turn Mice into Moose. Wood floors may look nice, but do nothing to dampen sounds, so it's best if you don't like sleeping. Lease terms are also ugly. To move out you need to give 2 months notice AND pay an additional 2 month penalty. Don't do it.
