MONTH LONG ROACH PROBLEM
I am extremely disappointed with the management at The Overlook at Quantico due to an ongoing cockroach infestation and the lack of accountability or concern shown by the office staff.
We have had a roach problem since October 2025 (this review is being written in February 2026). Pest control supposedly came on November 11th and left a note stating they treated the unit. The cockroaches continued, so another service request was submitted on December 3rd. Since then, no one has come to our unit,... or if they did, they did not leave a notice and the infestation did not improve at all.
My husband went to the leasing office the first week of January to report that the issue was still ongoing. We were told pest control would come on January 12th. They did not come, and again, no note was left.
As of February 2nd, the cockroaches are still very much present. When I called the office to report this, I was repeatedly told, “It says they came December 16th, if you put in the request, then they came.” That was the only response I received, over and over. Management did not acknowledge that there is still an active infestation, did not offer to send pest control again, and became visibly frustrated with me when I stated that no one came and the problem was never resolved.
To be very clear: there are still roaches. My husband and I kill 20–30 roaches per day in our kitchen. We have tried handling it ourselves with baits and sprays, but they keep coming back. I have a baby, and I have personally seen a cockroach crawling near his bassinet. Despite expressing how serious and unsafe this is, the office continued to focus only on claiming they “treated” the unit in December rather than addressing the current reality.
I also want to note that there appears to be only one maintenance worker for the entire complex, and he is incredibly kind and helpful. This situation is not his fault at all, the issue lies entirely with management and how resident concerns are handled.
This has been a months-long issue that has not been taken seriously, and the lack of urgency, empathy, or solutions from the office is unacceptable, especially when health and safety are involved.
