STAY AWAY
This Place Has Gone Downhill – Stay Away!
This apartment complex used to be great under Avalon’s management, but it has completely fallen apart since they left. It’s now on its third name in just two years, clearly trying to hide the growing pile of bad reviews—and for good reason.
The fire alarms go off constantly because of faulty equipment. Instead of fixing the issue, maintenance just pours water on them, which only triggers more alarms. The garage door is regularly broken, creating a huge... security risk—my friend had a custom bike stolen, and management did absolutely nothing.
Elevators are always out of service. If you live on a higher floor, be prepared to hike up and down for days, sometimes weeks. Trash rooms are perpetually overflowing, and no one seems to take responsibility for cleaning them.
I had a broken fridge for over a month before they finally replaced it, despite repeated service requests. Even worse, I filed multiple complaints about a broken fire exit door—nothing happened until I had to get the county and fire marshal involved.
They also push a $500 referral bonus, but don’t fall for it. I referred someone and never saw a dime, even after following up multiple times. It’s false advertising, plain and simple.
The office staff is unresponsive and indifferent. I’ve asked for callbacks on several issues—never heard back. On top of that, they make you go through an invasive pet screening process that collects unnecessary personal information and charges you extra on top of pet rent.
The building itself is in a sad state—broken doors, poor maintenance, and zero communication. What was once a solid place to live has become a total disaster. Do yourself a favor and look somewhere else.

This place is disgusting!
The management is horrible, the common areas are not clean but worst of all it's roach infested! The day that I was supposed to move in management had scheduled a pest control treatment and said that I couldn't move in before 4pm. This should have been done BEFORE my move in date. After the treatment there were dead roaches all over the floors, counters and cabinets. A week later they weren't dying anymore so I scheduled a second treatment with the same result. Now management tells me I have to... remove everything from the cabinets, drawers and countertops AND clean everything so they can treat the apartment again. It took over 2 hours to prepare the area and the pest control company never showed up. This place is disgusting!!

Do yourself a favor...Find another apartment complex with a leasing office that actually gives a crap about you and your family. They don't here.

Not so good experience
Thinking about renting at Park Crest Apartments at Tyson’s? Here's my experience to consider:
We stayed at Park Crest from September 2023 to May 2024. Everything seemed perfect until we moved in.
First, we discovered that the water meter was overcharging us. Even on days we weren’t in the apartment, the water bill showed an average usage of about 150 gallons per day. We began contacting the property manager and utility service in November 2023, sending dozens of emails and visiting the leasing... office. Despite our efforts, nothing was resolved by the time we moved out in May 2024. They likely realized there was an issue and gave us a $100 one-time credit in April, but this didn’t come close to covering the monthly overcharges.
Second, there was a constant smell of weed in the hallway despite the property’s non-smoking policy.
After we moved out, we were shocked to see a $230 deduction from our deposit for carpet cleaning and trash removal. We thoroughly cleaned the apartment, including vacuuming the carpet and removing all the trash. No explanation was provided for what is considered reasonable for deductions from deposit.
