Health Hazard Nightmare
We’ve been living at Waterview Apartments since February and have been dealing with severe black mold that’s caused serious health issues for both of us — and now, heartbreakingly, for our service dog as well.
We reported the mold shortly after moving in, and management immediately blamed us, insisting it was our responsibility to clean and prevent it. So we did everything we could: spent hundreds on cleaning supplies, fans, and dehumidifiers running 24/7. But the mold kept coming back.
In May... , we discovered the real cause — a structural issue letting moisture into the unit. Maintenance confirmed this and told us it’s happening in every unit here. He sprayed some Kilz over the visible mold and left. That was the only action taken — and, sadly, the only kindness we’ve received from anyone at this complex.
Since then, we’ve sent repeated emails with photos, documentation, and urgent health updates — all of which have been ignored. We've spent thousands on ER visits because we can barely breathe in here. Our breathing issues have gotten so bad we now need inhalers. Meanwhile, our service dog’s symptoms are worsening and could lead to lifelong illness or worse.
We’ve also lost thousands of dollars in furniture, electronics, instruments, personal items that can never be replaced and more — items we’ve had to throw away because they were overtaken by mold.
Through all of this, we’ve been blamed, dismissed, and now completely ignored.
If you’re even considering renting here, talk to current tenants first. We’ve been chronically ill since moving in, and now our dog’s life is in danger. First they were hostile — now they’re silent.
Do not put your health at risk. Especially if you have pets or children, this place is a serious hazard. Avoid it at all costs.
