Dockside

I was super excited to finally be moving into Dockside apartments after I moved to the area all the way from PA. Staff were great in helping me with the application process and were also helpful on moving day. But after three weeks this place has quickly worn out its welcome. Two maintenance requests later and I’m stuck with a washer that won’t spin out, leaving my clothes sopping wet and mildewy from the wash. I have to hang wring them out and hang them over my balcony hoping they will dry out… in three or four days’ time. And that’s when I’m not scared to even walk on my balcony…I was informed it would be replaced SOMETIME this summer (there’s holes in the floor and large chunks missing from the railings). Yet I haven’t seen any crews working on any decks in this entire complex, so needless to say I will probably not be enjoying my extremely unsafe balcony this summer. Oh and did I mention that you need a separate pool key to get into the pool area? Yet I haven’t received one. That’s only because they just “haven’t gotten back any pool keys from other residents” so I’m forced to ask for permission to enter the pool area like a child. Yet they offer to have extra apartment keys made up at your expense for $5…..And that’s IF the pool isn’t locked up for days on end because the “pool water hasn’t been tested.” But I saw one of the groundskeepers walking around picking up trash, the same EXACT groundskeeper that took 2 minutes to test the water the day I was trying to get into the pool. Not to mention the parking situation. I’ve come home many a times after work to see that some random folks have made their way over into parking spots that I PAY A PREMIUM PRICE FOR LIVING HERE and they’re just visiting. Maybe it’s because there’s only like three visitors parking spots that are ALWAYS taken when I drive past. HMMM…..not sure what to think about this place after only the three weeks I’ve been here but it’s NOT pleasant. I don’t want to be that “Karen” that lives in this apartment complex but wow! Property management cares more about their profit than their residents down to maintenance. They've been 'backed up' on work orders since August of 2019. Lack of standard safety/ health procedures: dryer vents clogged was advised they only get cleaned once a year, electrical boxes completely exposed on the exterior of buildings, missing fire extinguishers. Concerns of mold were brought up to management took them almost 2 whole months to inspect, they refuse to bug bomb the enclosed pet areas… which are moist are that doesn't drain properly (breeding ground for fleas) cannot bring pets there even though they are treated they still get fleas. If you like random charges after signing the lease....this is your place. Horrible customer service. The policies that this complex has in place is in favor of nothing more than personal profits, not the customers safety and comfort. New management took over June 1st, just goes to show the quality of the complex. New management applied new paint but that doesn't change how they treat their residents.

Unbelievable but true.
I have been charged $175 of late fee for my water bill of $100 even though I am setup for automatic payment. And the bill is 12 days only.
I called the office. The first employee on the phone said per policy we do not cancel late fee no matter the reason. It is company policy. I politely replied that I wanted to talk to the manager.
She told me to call the following day and I did. I talked to the manager who said that she doesn’t know how this happens. She is going to… send an email to the upper manager to get the late fee removed.
I called the following day and she said to wait about 2 days. The upper management received her email but couldn’t decide.
After that I when I call, the office employee will say, this is about the late fee? we are sorry the manager is busy she will return your phone call.
And now over 2 weeks, she never calls me back and the office employees will say the same thing.
I asked the office employee to give me the phone number or email of the upper management, she said that the office manager is the upper management. We don’t have any upper management.
I am sure the scheme is to wait until the end of the month of the automatic payment to quick in and then add more late fees to my account or takes more money in my account which of course I am not going to let happen.
