a well of potential, wasted by incompetence
as a long time resident of these apartments, I have bore witness to a slew of apathy, incompetence, and neglect from the apartment managers.
I believe that these apartments have a lot of potential - the courtyard would be absolutely beautiful if it were properly maintained (specifically, the artificial pond is littered with refuse). the high ceilings (on 3rd story units) and spacious square footage is offset by decaying exteriors, terrible insulation, and sloppy repairs. the location is quite... convenient, what with the Kent YMCA just around the corner and several businesses within walking distance. sadly, if you have an issue with paying rent, good luck reaching the managers, as their "availability" is limited to a mere two hours a day (can't be reached via phone, and their office is closed and locked up), as management doesn't seem to be inclined to actually do their jobs. have an issue with an appliance? mold? leaks? good luck getting that fixed with a mere TWO maintenance workers responsible for hundreds of apartment units.
one of the biggest indicators that I must depart is when one of the apartment blocks burst into flames back in October 2025. while the fire alarms were functioning properly, the smoke detectors in those units were either non-functional or outright missing, as management had skipped the fire alarm inspections outright that they themselves scheduled.
I loved living here given the beauty all around, but with these issues mounting, along with the multiple changes in management companies, I am finally moving out, and until the management here is fully replaced, I would encourage others to steer clear.
