    Don’t rent!

    We were charged over $1000 for the carpets that they installed BEFORE we moved in, but we’re charged months AFTER we moved out. For “not normal wear and tear on carpets”. I asked for photos of damage that would require new carpets. They send us photos of our carpet that have not been professionally cleaned. They circled “dirty” areas where pieces of furniture were covering for the entire year. Other spots circled are just the carpet going in a different direction.
    Yes, they are dirty in the    … entrance of the bedroom, but that’s normal wear and tear. Nothing a carpet cleaning company couldn’t handle (never saw one carpet cleaning company during my year living there making me think this is common scam for them)
    They charged us more money than the cost of the new carpets they replaced in the apartment.
    They never did a walkthrough with us before we moved out, even after we requested to schedule one they said it’s not necessary.
    There were plenty of other issues too.
    You can smell poo with the water treatment plant right next door.
    The “world class gym” is a joke, available parking was frequently an issue, spiders dominate the buildings.
    For the price, the units are cheaply built and outdated, things constantly breaking. (garbage disposal, washing machine, door not latching, toilet) floorboards messed up and white paint covering any imperfections.
    Do yourself a favor and rent anything other than Thrive Management.

    Hello, we're disappointed to hear of the negative experience you had during move out. We can absolutely review with you our process of how we charge back above normal wear and tear or give further details or explanation. When we are reviewing… conditions of flooring, we do get professional opinions on whether damage can be repaired or remediated prior to replacement. I understand from the pictures it appears to be in ok condition, however there was other damage that was determined. Please do let us know if we could offer further documentation on this or if there are questions. Thank you.
